Accounting, FP&A and Payroll Services to a German MNC
Background
A German MNC starting operations in India was in need for a “FULL SERVICE PROVIDER”. Brief was to set up the organization, implement processes, manage Finance, Controlling and Taxation departments.
Our contribution
1. We set up their entire Finance function. Activities involved recruiting staff, imparting training on company’s processes, organizational orientation, monitor performance and set up goals for the Finance organization and employees
2. Function as the company’s FP&A role. Devise and deliver on meaningful MIS, follow-up and report on remedial actions agreed in monthly meetings, drive cost consciousness and control, prepare budgets and forecasts working with Business heads, pricing and design and deliver on Decision Support System
3. Setup and monitor Cash flow system. Advisory in improving cash flows
4. Setup and monitor compliance system to ensure “0” compliance misses
5. Strategize, budget, prepare and implement new manufacturing facility, including but not limited to land acquisition, vendor finalisation, process ( men, material, machine) flows, preparing presentation to senior management for approval of project, monitoring spends, variance reporting, capitalization etc
Challenges
1. # of invoices : over 1000 invoices in a month,
2. Timelines:- Target Turnaround time of 48 hours
3. Limited availability of resources
4. Erratic flow of invoices from Vendors
5. High dependency on vendor’s effectiveness to send invoices along with supporting evidence like loading slips, goods consignment notes
6. Lack of automation of processes
